Log in to your Shopify admin portal.
Click “Apps” from the left-hand menu.
Click the "Develop apps" link at the top
Click "Create an app"
You can safely ignore the warning about creating new legacy apps after January 1, 2026
The app name should be "Alluvia Platform", and you can choose yourself (or another store owner) as the app developer.
You will see a screen with some tiles, click the highlighted button below:
For Alluvia to work properly, you must grant the following API scopes by checking off the write/read boxes:
- “Read and Write” on Customers
- “Read and Write” on Orders
- "Read and Write" on Order Edits
- “Read and Write" on Inventory
- "Read and Write" on Products
- "Read" on Locations
- "Read and Write" on Shipping
Click the green Save button and then the "API credentials" tab. Shopify will generate the API key and the API secret key, but no token until you click the Install App button.
You will get a warning popup, click "Install"
An Admin API token will now have been generated. This can only be revealed once. Click Reveal Once and copy the token, then copy the API key and API secret key and send to Alluvia.
